For the best sprinter Églantine Rayer, the course from the Périgord Ladies “is super leg-breaking”

You finished seventh and best sprinter, how do you feel?
I was the last substitute chosen so as not to include the girls who will be doing the Tour de France next week, because they are in specific training and they must not take too many risks. So I didn't really know what it would be like. In the end, I felt good. I started to do the climbs, the sprints. Then I took the breakaway. Unfortunately, I got cramps on the last lap of the final circuit. But it had been a long time since I had been like that at the front, so it was nice.
Not at all! Collectively, we hoped to win the race, of course. But we got a bit harassed by UAE! Now, I'm really happy with the way we raced. We also finished unscathed, and that's important.
What did you think of the race?
It was my first time here. We were greeted by the rain, but I'm from Normandy and I had just spent two days at home in the rain! And the temperature rose super quickly. Afterwards, the roads were small, it was a bit scary at first. But we were able to position ourselves collectively, at the front, safely. The course is super tough and everyone felt it and will feel it tomorrow too, I think. Especially since there are differences in level between teams that will be at the Tour, others that are in N1. But it also allows for a more open race, with the opportunity to show off for small teams, it's pretty cool. And the organization is really good, I really liked it.
